Last night, on the American East Coast, we were able to see the footage from Australian media of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s arrival in Melbourne. It’s not just that the Australian media is treating Prince Harry and Meghan’s private visit as if it’s a royal tour, it’s that the Australian media is absolutely consumed with their visit and they’re treating Harry and Meghan like the most important and popular royal figures. King and Queen of Oz!! Australian television even had reporters embedded in the Melbourne airport, interviewing the other passengers on H&M’s commercial flight, all of whom were happy to talk about their brush with royalty. I can hear the plates smashing at Anmer Hall from here.

I’m splitting up the photos because Meghan has already changed her outfit a few times and there’s so much to cover! These photos are from their first event, a visit to the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne. There were hundreds of people, including tons of children, gathered inside the hospital’s lobby, waiting to greet the Sussexes. All of the kids were thrilled to see H&M especially, and H&M tried to make sure each kid got a special moment.

Meghan’s dark navy dress here is from an Australian designer, Karen Gee. Apparently, Meghan wore Gee in 2018, during the Sussexes’ South Pacific Tour too (for eagle-eyed fashionistas, Meghan’s 2018 Gee look was the white, sleeveless sheath dress). Gee also got quoted today in the Aussie media, saying: “She is very loyal to me, which is beautiful. When a woman like Meghan chooses to wear Karen Gee again, years after first discovering the brand, it speaks to something far deeper than a moment.”

I’m including some of the airport segments below, it’s truly insane. But what’s also nice is that the Australian media is being like 80-90% positive about Harry and Meghan’s visit, almost like the Oz media is pushing back on the weeks-long wave of negativity from the British press.

Almost one year ago exactly, Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso resigned as royal patrons of Sentebale, the Lesotho-based children’s charity they founded in honor of their late mothers. What followed after their resignations has been nonstop shenanigans and chicanery from Sophie Chandauka. Chandauka’s latest is that she’s suing Harry and… Sentebale’s former trustee Mark Dyer for defamation, claiming that Harry and Dyer organized a campaign to destabilize Sentebale. She’s apparently getting outside funding for this lawsuit. My theory is that her smear campaign against Harry last year was an attempt to force HIM to sue her or sue Sentebale. She never expected Harry to walk away completely and refuse to engage with her nonsense.

Anyway, the whole reason why Harry and Seeiso got to the crisis point where they felt the need to resign was because many within Sentebale’s Board of Trustees resigned en masse over Chandauka’s mismanagement of the charity. That directly caused Harry and Seeiso to stand with the trustees and resign in protest of Chandauka as well. That’s often ignored in British reporting about this catastrophe, but it’s come back to the forefront given Chandauka’s lawsuit against Dyer. Now the Times of London got their hands on the trustees’ resignation letter:

The former trustees of the charity founded by the Duke of Sussex accused its chair of misconduct, intimidation and risking the charity’s future, a previously unseen resignation letter shows. The letter has emerged days after Sentebale sued Harry for defamation following a long-running spat between him and the Lesotho-based charity’s chair.

The letter was sent when the board of trustees and Harry resigned in protest of Chandauka’s stewardship of the charity in March 2025. It has not been made public until now. The trustees said they had “unanimously decided to resign” after raising “significant concerns” about her conduct. They wrote that they had asked Chandauka to step down after months of “significant issues”, adding that this was “not a sudden decision” but one reached after sustained difficulties.

They alleged a “breakdown” in relationships with trustees, staff and major funders, and accused her of attempting to manipulate board minutes. They also claimed her tenure had an “adverse effect” on the charity.

The letter also claims Chandauka responded to calls for her to step down by making “vague and deeply troubling allegations” to “threaten and intimidate the board, its patrons and a donor”. The trustees said these actions further “diminished trust” within the organisation. The dispute intensified when she sought a High Court injunction to block a board meeting at which trustees planned to vote on her position.

“There can be no more damning evidence of your failure to act as a leader capable of putting the charity’s best interests first,” the trustees wrote. They warned the situation had become “untenable” and said the charity faced “irreparable damage”.

They added: “This attack from within threatens to destroy Sentebale for good.” The trustees also said that Harry and Prince Seeiso, the charity’s founding patrons, were “aligned” with their position and would step down while Chandauka remained in post.

The letter warned that if replacements could not be found, the trustees would consider “options for the charity’s closure and transferral of its remaining assets to another charity with similar aims”. The letter, signed by Mark Dyer and five other trustees, sheds light on the internal dispute that escalated into a High Court defamation claim against Harry and the former trustee Dyer.

Once again, Sentebale has been destroyed from within because the UK’s Charity Commission refused to do their jobs as a regulatory agency. The Charity Commission thought it was worth it to cause problems for Prince Harry rather than take out the trash and actually say that Chandauka needs to go. It was abundantly clear last year that the trustees, co-founders, sponsors and royal patrons all had well-documented issues with Chandauka’s mismanagement and financial impropriety, not to mention her frankly disturbing behavior. The fact that Chandauka went on an interview spree last year, shrieking about Harry and Meghan, should have been the biggest clue that this was all a f–king scam on her part.

Over the weekend, Donald Trump raged out on Pope Leo/Bob, declaring the pope to be “weak on crime” and “terrible on foreign policy.” As we’ve documented for a full decade, Trump is criminally stupid and evil incarnate, not to mention fully in the throes of dementia. Trump’s beef with Pope Bob is indefensible, and yet… all of the most loyal MAGA cucks are doing their best to defend it. Enter JD Vance, the anti-Midas Touch, the man who reverses right-wing fortunes with a swipe of guyliner and a pompous “well actually.” Vance wasn’t content to blow the Iran negotiations or watch as Viktor Orban, the Hungarian fascist he endorsed, lost a national election. Vance had to go on Fox News to defend Trump’s Pope Bob rant. Vance said the funniest f–king thing too, it might be even funnier than “the Pope is weak on crime.”

Vice President JD Vance, who converted to Catholicism as an adult, is advising Pope Leo XIV to “stick to matters of morality.”

During a stop on Fox News on Monday, April 13, Vance was asked about President Donald Trump’s recent Truth Social post criticizing the first American pope. Vance at first acknowledged that Pope Leo and Trump, 79, would have policy disagreements before sharing what he thought was “best” for the Vatican to do.

“I certainly think that in some cases, it would be best for the Vatican to stick to matters of morality,” Vance, 41, told Fox News’ Brett Baier. “To stick to matters of, you know, what’s going on in the Catholic Church and let the president of the United States stick to dictating American public policy. But when they’re in conflict, they’re in conflict.”

“I don’t worry too much about it, Brett,” Vance continued, before suggesting that disagreements between Pope Leo, 70, and Trump could happen in the future.

On Sunday, April 12, Trump posted a long rant on Truth Social about the pontiff, calling him “WEAK on Crime” and “terrible for Foreign Policy.”

“I don’t want a Pope who thinks it’s OK for Iran to have a Nuclear Weapon,” Trump wrote. “I don’t want a Pope who thinks it’s terrible that America attacked Venezuela, a Country that was sending massive amounts of Drugs into the United States and, even worse, emptying their prisons, including murderers, drug dealers, and killers, into our Country.”

The president later wrote that he does not “want a Pope who criticizes the President of the United States because I’m doing exactly what I was elected, IN A LANDSLIDE, to do.”

In response, Leo told reporters on Monday that he has “no fear of the Trump administration, or speaking out loudly of the message of the Gospel, which is what I believe I am here to do,” per The New York Times.

“I’m sorry to hear that but I will continue on what I believe is the mission of the church in the world today,” Leo told reporters, later adding that he will continue to speak out against war, referring to the U.S. and Israel’s war with Iran.

“Too many people are suffering in the world today,” Leo later said. “Too many innocent people are being killed. And I think someone has to stand up and say there’s a better way.”

The reason Trump is so bothered by Pope Bob is because Bob isn’t a politician, nor can Bob be influenced by Trump’s regular mob tactics, tactics which Trump tends to employ with international leaders. That’s why Vance was sent out to cry about how the pope needs to “stick to matters of morality,” as if these are not some of the greatest moral crises of the 21st century: immigration, war, nuclear proliferation, extrajudicial killing, the rise of fascism, false prophets in the form of cult leaders, and on and on. Instead of arguing that “the pope has every right to say whatever he wants and we have the right to ignore him,” they’ve got that rancid Cabbage Doll on Fox News claiming that the pope doesn’t have the right to TEACH THE GOSPEL.

I give up – I’m finally learning what a Clavicular is. He’s a 20-year-old “influencer” who is part of the fragile-masculinity community online. He likes to be called Clav, so that’s what I’ll call him. Clav is somewhat famous for popularizing the term “looksmaxxing,” meaning to alter one’s appearance to become more Chad-like and attractive in a way to attract women, I guess? Except that most of these men hate women, so IDK. Clav has done a lot to looksmaxx, including using steroids and hitting his face with a hammer. Clav also pals around with the well-known incels and misogynist right-wing. Well, Clav thought it would be a good idea to sit down for an on-camera interview with 60 Minutes Australia. First of all, he got “mogged” by the Australian journalist, Adam Hegarty. Second of all, Clav looked like he was going to cry throughout the interview, which is not a very Chad thing. Third of all, this kid is a dumbass and he ended up walking out of the interview when he was asked about his connections to the incel community.

Clavicular went on 60 Minutes Australia and apparently wasn’t expecting a few mildly tough questions. The “looksmaxxing” influencer, aka Braden Peters, is going viral for something other than hitting his jaw with a hammer after he walked out of an interview with the news program.

The controversial 20-year-old streamer, who is known for advocating a self-obsession with physical attractiveness, was asked by correspondent Adam Hegarty if he identifies as an incel.

“I mean, how could you ask me that question as a follow-up after you asked me about my relationships to women?” he frostily replied. “I mean, that’s quite literally the worst sequence of questions I think I’ve ever heard.”

Hegarty then rephrased the question: “Looksmaxxing was obviously a term created by the incel community. How do you feel about being linked to that group?”

“I’m not linked to that group in any way,” he countered. “Looksmaxxing is self-improvement, right? So it’s about potentially even ascending out of that category. So that would be kind of one of the goals — to dissociate from being an incel and overcome that. So that doesn’t make sense.”

Then Hegarty pointed out that he’s hung out with Andrew Tate and asked, “Why do you spend time with people like that?”

Clavicular somewhat bizarrely attempted to suggest the interviewer was a cuckold. “I see you want to make this political,” he said. “Too bad I didn’t have time to look into, you know, anything about potentially, you know, who your wife cheated with, but don’t try to go down that line of questioning with me.”

Hegarty replied, “I’m not married.”

Continued Clavicular, “… so I could teach you about looksmaxxing, and then maybe you could switch that up. Thanks for the time, appreciate the interview.” Then he got up, took off his microphone and walked off the set.

Instead of unpacking why this is absolutely the eleventy billionth reason for impeachment, just let the sacrilege wash over you. Trump-as-MAGA-Jesus, with Lady Liberty being consumed by the Potomac and not one but TWO eagles. White folks fervently praying to MAGA Jesus as the Divine Baby Fists heal some napping man. Trump or his people later deleted it, but when he was asked about it last night, he claimed that he didn’t even catch the MAGA Jesus of it all, saying: “I thought it was me as a doctor. Only the fake news could come up with that.” It was too late though – Trump had those Evangelical nutjobs in their feelings:

In a matter of days, MAGA media figures have gone from defending President Donald Trump as God’s chosen president to making the case that he is actually the antichrist. The accusations reached a fever pitch on Sunday night, after Trump posted an AI-generated image depicting himself dressed in a white robe and red sash and placing a hand radiating golden light on a man in a hospital bed. The image, which Trump deleted from Truth Social after around 14 hours, seemed to invoke Jesus Christ, and it outraged some supporters who likened Trump’s behavior to the antichrist—a figure in Christian theology who opposes Christ and whose appearance many believe could augur the end of time.

Major figures in the MAGA universe quickly spoke out. “It’s more than blasphemy. It’s an Antichrist spirit,” former congressperson Marjorie Taylor Greene posted to X on Sunday.

“In 18 months I went from hesitantly voting for Trump to thinking there’s a decent chance he’s the antichrist,” added Clint Russell, host of the right-wing Liberty Lockdown podcast.

“I genuinely believe Trump is currently demon possessed,” far-right Texas pastor Joel Webbon wrote on X. Hours later, Webbon hosted a livestream chat titled “Is Donald Trump the Anti-Christ?”

The Knights Templar Order, a Christian organization based on a medieval military order, wrote of the post that they had “no other choice but to condemn it wholeheartedly and ask for a public apology.”

For more than a decade, Trump and his supporters have used explicitly religious rhetoric and images to mobilize his base. But in recent weeks, some of Trump’s actions—from posts about the Vatican to messages about Iran posted on Easter Sunday—have caused a major schism among his supporters that could have lasting effects for him and the Republican Party.

The king, queen and Dutch prime minister are visiting Washington this week and they had a photocall yesterday. Last year, Maxima had a small controversy with another Trump photocall – in the video from the event, you could see Maxima briefly mimicking (if not mocking) Trump’s ugly mouth. He must not have been aware of it. Mel’s dress looks like a Rorschach test.

Here are more photos from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s events today in Melbourne, Australia. I’m including photos from their visit to the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne, where they spoke to kids and staffers at the Kelpie garden, and Meghan’s solo visit to McAuley Community Services for Women. That’s a women’s shelter and DV shelter. Meghan worked in the kitchen for a bit and met some of the women there. People Magazine pointed out that Harry’s mother and father visited the same hospital back in the 1980s, and QEII also visited it once. If you couldn’t tell from the weeks of British-media tantrums preceding the Sussexes’ arrival, the entire royal media apparatus wants this visit to fail, and they’re going out of their way to ruin the visit as well. The Times of London ran a hysterically unhinged story about how Harry and Meghan are “using Australians like an ATM!” You guys…

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been accused of using Australia “like an ATM” as they start a four-day visit with events where tickets to see them speak cost between £260 and £1,675. Harry and Meghan will visit Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney during their stay with a programme that a spokesman said would “focus on mental health, community resilience and support for veterans and their families, alongside private meetings and special projects”.

Harry has been lined up as a guest speaker at the InterEdge Summit in Melbourne on Thursday, which is set to explore the “vital space where individual wellbeing and organisational responsibility meet” and the “intersection of leadership, psychosocial safety and human connection in the workplace”. Delegate tickets for the two-day conference, hosted at Melbourne’s Centrepiece conference venue, are available for £525, with platinum tickets priced at £1,250 and a “virtual ticket allowing on-demand access to Harry’s speech” costing £260.

During the couple’s visit, Meghan will be interviewed on stage at a “girls’ weekend” retreat in Sydney, costing £1,400 per ticket. VIP tickets for the event at the five-star InterContinental Coogee Beach hotel cost £1,675 and include a group table photo with the duchess. So far, however, the retreat appears to be not fully booked. As of Monday night, the event’s website was continuing to market “a handful of additional rooms just released”.

It is not clear how much Harry and Meghan are being paid for their appearances on the trip. It is understood that the duke and duchess are travelling without their children, Archie, six, and Lilibet, four.

One Melbourne newspaper reported the planned visit on Monday with a headline which read: “No One Cares about Sussex’s ‘Faux’ tour.”

Monday’s Sydney Morning Herald put it even more bluntly: “Australia was good to Harry and Meghan. Now they want to use us as an ATM.”

Meghan has trademarked her brand As Ever with the Australian authorities, which would grant her the right to sell products ranging from candles to garden ornaments in the jurisdiction under the name “As Ever”. So far its products include gift boxes of jams and honey.

What part of a “mix of commercial and philanthropic events” do these people not f–king understand? And the thing about Harry and Meghan making paid appearances is that literally NO ONE IS BEING FORCED TO PAY FOR THEM. You have free will – if you do not want to buy a £1,400 ticket, you do not have to. If you don’t want to pay to hear Harry’s thoughts on mental health, no one is holding a gun to your wallet and forcing you to type in your credit card number. And IF Meghan does an As Ever pop-up – which I don’t actually think will happen – then no one will force Australians to buy her jam! What is their problem?

Here are photos of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in Melbourne earlier today (Tuesday, April 14), visiting the Australian National Veterans Arts Museum (ANVAM). I believe this was their second joint event of the day, following their visit to a Melbourne Children’s Hospital. You know what impresses me? They were able to do public appearances on the same day they arrived in Australia. They flew across the International Date Line, east to west! They’re probably jet-lagged to hell and back, but here they are, making the most of their time in Australia and making sure to do good work.

Meghan’s outfit here was another pointed look from an Australian designer – she wore an Aussie designer, Karen Gee, earlier in the day as well! The matching jacket and skirt are from St. Agni, an independent Australian brand founded in Byron Bay. Meghan’s sweater is from P. Johnson, another Australian label. Her shoes are Aquazzura. I love that she wore Aussie designers but I’m not crazy about the jacket! I know what she was going for, but overall, the look was too “mossy.” She removed the jacket inside the museum and her outfit works much better.

When I tell you that the British press has been in full convulsions over the Sussexes’ arrival in Australia, I’m not joking. The Brits are truly screaming, crying and throwing up. They’re also doing their best to dictate the conversation around Harry & Meghan and this trip, like the Brits believe they “own” the Sussexes and they “own” Australia. The Telegraph had a predictably shady and stupid story just a few hours before the Sussexes touched down in Melbourne.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will prioritise listening and learning “rather than promotion” on a four-day tour of Australia this week. The couple will visit Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney during the trip, which begins on Tuesday, and complete “private meetings and special projects” about their favourite charitable issues. However, they may struggle to win the support of the Australian media, which already described the tour as a “financial and reputational” exercise at the weekend.

Lucrative speaking engagements, including the Duchess’s appearance at a highly publicised £1,400 “girls-only” weekend event, will run back-to-back with engagements that focus on mental health, community resilience and military veterans. In response to criticism that the pseudo-royal tour was designed to promote their own brand, a source close to the Sussexes said: “The visit prioritises listening, learning and supporting communities rather than promotion.”

A source told The Telegraph that the Australian visit was well-timed. “It will be a welcome distraction from the nonsense going on in the UK,” they said.

“That [2018] tour was a significant moment for them in terms of working together as a couple, as a team,” the source said. “They both love Australia and are really excited to return. Harry has spent a lot of time here and is really looking forward to meeting up with old friends.”

The visit Down Under has been in the diary for around a year but was originally planned on a much smaller scale. It was expanded in recent weeks when the dates coincided with various charitable and business invitations and the couple “saw an opportunity” to visit grassroots organisations that shared their values. However, planned but unannounced walkabouts in Sydney and Melbourne had to be abandoned after an operational note was leaked, compromising security. The couple are travelling with a relatively small team of eight, including their security detail, chiefs of staff and communications director.

They will also be accompanied by their own photographer, a tactic also employed by the Prince and Princess of Wales on public engagements to control their image and ensure they own their archive.

They’re just FUMING. The Telegraph also tried to twist this quote: “It will be a welcome distraction from the nonsense going on in the UK,” as if the source was merely talking about Sophie Chandauka’s dumbass lawsuit. It’s pretty clear the source was referring to the utter meltdown from the British press though. It’s also clear that the British press is doing whatever they can to ruin this visit and put Harry & Meghan in as much danger as possible. Meanwhile, it appears as if the Aussies are super-happy to see them and H&M are still amazingly popular in Oz. Whoopsie.

I just realized who Eric Swalwell reminds me of, looks-wise: Michael Weatherly, that d-bag from NCIS. And like Weatherly, Swalwell is really gross to women. In recent days, CNN and the San Francisco Chronicle have both released exclusives on Eric Swalwell’s lengthy history of using his position as a congressman to abuse much-younger female staffers. Swalwell was considered a rising star in the Democratic Party, and before these stories broke, he was topping the polls for the Democratic nomination for California’s governor’s race. On Sunday, Swalwell dropped out of the Democratic primary. 24 hours later, he’s now resigning his congressional seat.

Eric Swalwell, a Democratic congressman from the San Francisco Bay Area, said on Monday that he is resigning after allegations that he sexually assaulted a former staff member and engaged in misconduct with other women.

The accusations, published in articles by The San Francisco Chronicle and CNN, prompted rescinded endorsements in the governor’s race, a criminal investigation and, now, Mr. Swalwell’s exit from politics. The lawmaker has denied what he described as “the serious false allegation made against me,” but apologized to his family, staff and constituents “for mistakes in judgment I’ve made in my past” in a statement Monday.

Mr. Swalwell, 45, suspended his campaign for governor on Sunday after having been a Democratic front-runner in a wide-open race to succeed Gov. Gavin Newsom, who cannot run again because of term limits.

The House was expected to vote on whether to expel Mr. Swalwell this week, and a growing number of Mr. Swalwell’s colleagues — many of them Democratic women — said they would support forcing him out. The House Ethics Committee also announced it would investigate the allegations.

“Expelling anyone from Congress without due process, within days of an allegation being made, is wrong,” Mr. Swalwell said. “But it’s also wrong for my constituents to have me distracted from my duties.”

He did not offer a timeline for his resignation. Under California law, Gov. Gavin Newsom can decide whether to call a special election when a congressional office becomes vacant this close to a regularly scheduled election.

I’m fine with him resigning – it was more than likely that the votes were there to expel him from Congress anyway, so he saved Democrats a lot of time and energy. If he steps down quickly, I’m sure Gavin Newsom will find a way to call a special election pretty soon as well. Given that there’s already a big governor’s race, it would make sense to package everything together. I don’t want to see any whataboutism on Swalwell either – there is enough evidence to suggest that he is a serial abuser of women and this is exactly what should happen to him. The Democrats took out their trash over the course of 72 hours. Meanwhile, the Republicans are still slavishly devoted to enabling Donald Trump, a serial predator, misogynist and demented fascist madman for a full decade. The two parties are not the same.

Also: I keep seeing tweets from Hill staffers and DC politicos who are super-eager to claim that they have insider knowledge Swalwell’s behavior. Don’t believe everything you read on social media. From what I understand, most people in DC thought he was a womanizer who cheated on his wife constantly – I don’t believe it was common knowledge that he was assaulting or raping women.

For years now, King Charles and the wider Windsor clan have been trying to run various “poor Prince Andrew” narratives. Every story about how Charles and Camilla feel regarding Andrew is inevitably loaded down with sympathy and reminders of how Charles feels a “duty of care” for Andrew. In recent months, these stories have roped in Andrew’s other siblings, Princess Anne and Prince Edward. We’ve been told that Anne has advocated for Andrew and she still speaks to him. We were also told that Edward visited Andrew just before Easter, making him the first family member to visit Andrew since his February arrest. Edward either bitched out Andrew for staying in Wood Farm, or Edward was doing a brotherly mental-health check. Who knows? Well, Richard Kay claims to know. He got some kind of briefing from Edward and Sophie, it seems. From Kay’s latest piece in the Mail:

Edward’s comments about ‘victims’ several months ago: Admittedly, he was ambushed at an official media event, but he responded coolly, insisting it was important to ‘remember the victims’ in the scandal – something Andrew famously failed to do in his disastrous Newsnight interview in 2019. He then made this further point: ‘And who are the victims in all of this?’ Then, without answering his own question, he added ‘a lot of victims in this.’ Many wondered if this was an oblique reference to his brother, who has continued to deny all allegations against him, but whose reputation and name have been utterly destroyed. Friends of Edward have told me that is not the case, that he was merely emphasising his sympathy for the young girls exploited by Epstein and his vile cronies.

Edward & Anne urged restraint about punishing Andrew: Despite the damage Andrew has caused – and continues to cause – to the image of the House of Windsor, the duke and Anne were at one time urging restraint when other figures were demanding Charles strip their brother of all honours, titles and position – as well as booting him out of his home.

Edward’s frustrations: These days, I am told, Edward is more aligned with the general family view. ‘He shares their frustration at all the criticism – more often characterised as a four-letter word – that all of them are copping as a result of Andrew’s actions,’ says someone close to him. ‘It was there that day when he was trying to make a sensible speech on another subject and the first question he was asked was about his brother.’

Edward didn’t bitch out Andrew: Reports that Edward was sent by the King to have ‘a quiet word’ with his brother because he was ‘dragging his feet’ over the move to Marsh Farm are, however, wide of the mark. A figure familiar with the situation tells me that the friendly visit had more of a ‘pastoral nature’. Edward is ‘concerned about his brother’s mental welfare’. He feels that a lot of the visceral hatred, much of it online, that has been directed at the former prince has been deeply unpleasant.

Pity poor Andrew: It is a view held by other royal insiders. One told me that there was a sense within the family that some members of the public won’t be satisfied until Andrew is ‘on the dole and living in a council house’.

Kay went on and on about how Andrew and Edward have always been somewhat close, even if they’ve been more adversarial at times too. It honestly sounds like Andrew bullied Edward when they were kids, but Edward never took it seriously and they grew into some kind of friendship as adults. Which… whatever, okay, I have no idea why we’re supposed to care. That’s what I don’t get with all of these stories. I buy that royalists like Richard Kay are writing in earnest about the left-behinds supporting Andrew, but why anyone thinks this is a good look is beyond me.

This is especially galling: “One told me that there was a sense within the family that some members of the public won’t be satisfied until Andrew is ‘on the dole and living in a council house’.” First of all, ALL of them live “on the dole” to varying degrees, and their lavish lives are being maintained by screwing over the very people they scorn. Second of all, “on the dole and living in a council house” is exactly what millions of royalists wanted for Prince Harry and Meghan, and there’s never been any hand-wringing from the Windsors about “those people want to see a prince broken and destroyed!” That’s because the Windsors wanted the same thing as the royalists – they wanted Harry on the dole in a council estate, all for the crime of “marrying someone they didn’t like” and “walking away from the sh-tshow.” A serial predator like Andrew inspires more loyalty from the family than Harry.

Oof, I genuinely forgot how bad these Vanity Fair Oscar party photos were this year. Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos looked like they were on an operating table for his-and-hers facelifts. Well, Lauren wants some attention right now, just weeks away from the Met Gala. Lauren and Jeff are co-sponsoring this year’s Met Gala, and they’ll be given the full co-chair honors by Anna Wintour. Legacy media is dying, which is why the New York Times agreed to this bonkers profile of Lauren. I’ve read and covered interviews with her before, and as I’ve said before, I understand how she hooked Jeff Bezos. She’s vivacious, flirtatious, hilariously gaudy and self-effacing. She probably worked him like a rib. But of course, you can’t escape the fact that Sanchez and Bezos are giant a–holes. Even if you argue that 95% of that awfulness is on Jeff Bezos, Sanchez still enables him and fluffs up his bullsh-t. I would argue that she makes him seem less serious and more like a vapid wannabe. Anyway, some highlights from Lauren’s crazy NYT profile:

Jeff and Lauren’s typical day: The newlyweds wake up around 6 in their new, roughly $230 million compound on Indian Creek, an exclusive private island in Miami often called “Billionaire Bunker.” They don’t touch their phones. Instead, they begin each day by listing 10 things they’re grateful for — and they can’t repeat what they named the day before.
From there, the couple drink their morning coffee in a sunroom and watch the sun rise: hers from a mug that reads “Woke Up Sexy as Hell Again,” his from one she got him that spells HUNK in symbols from the periodic table. They play pickleball. Six days a week, they work out for an hour with a private trainer. “He looks good, doesn’t he?” Mrs. Sánchez Bezos said of her new husband, in an interview in Miami in January. She slow-nodded, repeating, “He looks good.”

Lauren wants more babies: Mrs. Sánchez Bezos, 56, adores kids. Having them. Raising them. Encouraging other people to have them. Over several interviews, she repeatedly urged me to have another baby. “Do it!” she said. “I would have another one tomorrow. Tomorrow.” I finally asked if she and Mr. Bezos were considering it, as a couple of her friends had suggested to me. “I would have a baby tomorrow,” she repeated, with a coy smile. (A spokeswoman later called to say Mrs. Sánchez Bezos was not having a baby.)

Lauren was a starf–ker long before she met Bezos: [She’s a] modern-day Brentwood Country Mart Babe Paley who counts Kris Jenner, Katy Perry, Leonardo DiCaprio and Lydia Kives, wife of the superconnector Michael Kives, among her close friends. “People act like he’s my new friend,” Mrs. Sánchez Bezos said of Mr. DiCaprio. “No, I’ve known Leo since I was 25. Twenty-five.”

The crazy Italian wedding: Mrs. Sánchez Bezos gets choked up talking about what the public didn’t see: the toasts by all their children; the high school friends of Mr. Bezos’ whom nobody bothered to photograph. Phones were banned from the ceremony and reception. But “no NDAs!” Mrs. Sánchez Bezos said, referring to nondisclosure agreements. “They’re our friends! And you did not see one picture come out of that wedding.”

Jeff Bezos’s politics: Mr. Bezos personally intervened to stop a planned endorsement of Kamala Harris by [the Washington Post], according to newsroom employees. (He argued in a note to readers that “presidential endorsements do nothing to tip the scales of an election,” and “create a perception of bias.”) He then attended Mr. Trump’s inauguration last year, seated front and center. Amazon paid roughly $40 million to license “Melania,” a documentary about the first lady — a move that some critics saw as an attempt to curry favor with President Trump… When I asked her opinion of Mr. Trump, Mrs. Sánchez Bezos, who is breezy and agile at pivoting back to the fun topics, waved me off. “I am not talking politics,” she said. “No, no, no, no, no. No way.” People close to Mrs. Sánchez Bezos often argue that it’s not fair to criticize her for her husband’s political and business decisions. The frequent refrain is, “What does that have to do with Lauren?” But that is the downside to being a conjoined organism to a master of the universe: It all has to do with you.

Lauren on the constant criticism: The constant criticism wears on her, Mrs. Sánchez Bezos said. “I can never imagine writing something mean on somebody’s Instagram,” she added. “It would actually break my heart. I want positive: You look great. You’re amazing. I want to just give everyone flowers. Why wouldn’t you?” Recently, her eldest son, Nikko, whom she shares with the former National Football League tight end Tony Gonzalez, installed an app on her phone to block her from using social media during the day.

This year’s Met Gala: Mrs. Sánchez Bezos told me that Ms. Wintour had reached out directly to ask if the couple would back the fund-raiser. “Anna called me, and I was like, ‘Anna who?’” Mrs. Sánchez Bezos joked, then called it “such an honor.” When I asked Mrs. Sánchez Bezos about rumors that she and her husband were buying Vogue’s parent company, Condé Nast, she teased, “I wish!” She then said, “No.”

She hired Law Roach to give her a classy makeover: Mrs. Sánchez Bezos has appeared in Vogue twice, including a cover spread on her wedding, and she recently enlisted stylist-to-the-stars Law Roach to help her with her image in advance of the Met Gala. Ms. Wintour was once famously averse to featuring large-busted women in the magazine, I pointed out. Mrs. Sánchez Bezos shrugged. “Maybe she likes them now,” she said. A lot of the snark about her appearance and her clothes feels rooted in racial stereotypes, she argued. “It’s the shape of my body,” she said. “Is someone going to give me a gunnysack and ask me to put a belt on it and cinch it? I’m Latin. I’m Latin. I’m Latin.”

Her outfit at Trump’s inauguration: That’s not to say she isn’t aware of the backlash to her look. Mrs. Sánchez Bezos thought she had dressed conservatively for Mr. Trump’s second inauguration, in a white Alexander McQueen pantsuit. “I was super proud of myself,” she said. When the event suddenly moved indoors, she removed her coat. The blazer opened, revealing a lace bra. Since they were seated directly behind Mr. Trump, the bra was in pretty much every photo of the event. “I get it,” she said. “No lace at the White House. Noted.”

Like, I legitimately believe there’s a racial element to the discourse about Lauren, but I also think the bulk of the criticism is not about race whatsoever, and it’s actually about class in all forms. Socioeconomic class and “class” as in taste, aesthetics, propriety, grace. Lauren looks tacky because she is tacky, and that’s a conversation about her behavior, her plastic surgery, her horrible style and the sad truth that all of the money in the world can’t buy taste, nice clothes or good-quality cosmetic work for someone who doesn’t know the difference. Oh well.

For years, Guy Fieri was a “joke” in the food industry. Anthony Bourdain regularly used Fieri as a punchline, and Fieri was seen as the embodiment of every gluttonous American-food stereotype out there. But eventually, everything shifted. People realized that his shows – especially Guy’s Drive-ins, Diners and Dives, gave enormous boosts to small, independently-owned restaurants and little-known chefs around the country. He did tons of stuff to boost restaurants and restaurant workers during the pandemic, even donating millions so that restaurants could stay in business and staffers could pay their bills. His Food Network programs are hugely popular with viewers, critics and foodies, and we lived long enough to see the villain become the hero. Well, now we’ve lived long enough to see the villain become the hero and then turn back into the villain.

So, remember Andrew and Tristan Tate, the sex-trafficking misogynists who were allowed back into the US when Trump came back to the White House? The Tate brothers are magically not rotting in an American prison right now. The Tates attended the UFC 327 fight in Miami over the weekend. So did Guy Fieri. Fieri looked pretty chummy with the Tates too.

Guy Fieri was in the house for Saturday’s UFC 327 in Miami, and so were the controversial Tate brothers — Andrew and Tristan. Video from the event shared on social media showed Fieri leaning over a railing to shake hands and bump shoulders with Andrew, and they all appeared to be sharing smiles and having a quick discussion.

Andrew and Tristan have not been convicted of a crime, but they certainly have been accused of some heinous ones. Andrew Tate is currently being investigated for suspicion of rape and abuse in the United Kingdom and he and Tristan are also facing charges of human trafficking in Romania. They deny all of the allegations.

Andrew Tate also has a huge following on social media where he is known for his misogynistic views.

And all of those things had Fieri’s fans — some now perhaps former fans — less than pleased to see him buddying up to the duo.

It’s an Epstein-like situation where you can delineate between “the time before most people knew” and “the time after most people knew.” The Tate brothers were arrested in Romania after an extensive investigation and a raid on their compound. The Romanians have evidence of the Tates committing heinous acts against women. Donald Trump still persuaded the Romanian government to release the Tates and allow them to return to America. But that doesn’t change the fact that they’re still facing investigations and charges and there’s a wealth of evidence indicating their guilt. What I’m saying is… Guy Fieri should have known and should have completely avoided them. And I’m looking at Guy differently now. Between this and Donald Trump’s presence at the same fight, it was like a r-pist convention.
